Be right back - now available

Be Right Back is my third metaverse novel, and you can now pick up your free PDF copy here. I hope to be doing readings (exerpts) in the new year, so watch out for dates. In the mean time, enjoy the story and have a happy holiday. :)

An hour of Hard Luck

Having just put the finishing touches to a new Hard Luck story, 'Did Dandelion Dickens die?', and thereby bringing the total number of stories so far written about the Second Life detective to three, I thought it might be a good idea to package them up as a special Christmas reading event. The provisional details for 'An Hour of Hard Luck' are that it will take place at The Blue Angel on 16 December at 3:30pm SLT (but check here for confirmation closer to the date or join my inworld group for details to be sent to you) and will feature Persephone Phoenix reading 'If the right guy is listening' (which is written in the female voice) whilst I will read 'Protecting Blackberry Pie' and 'Did Dandelion Dickens die?' In truth, an hour might be stretching it a bit, but if 45 minutes sounds good to you, I might even find a private eye outfit to wear ;) Please note, this event has been postponed... a new date & time will be posted here ASAP.

Join my group

In a moment of narcissistic madness, I have created a Second Life group for followers of my work. I will use the group to make announcements inworld about upcoming readings and new fiction 'releases'. The group is called 'Huck's news' and the best thing I can think to say about it is you get to have the tag 'What the Huck?' above your head when you're running it as your active group. Yes.

Interview in Role magazine

I've been interviewed by Harriet Gausman for Role magazine, the first issue of which (December 2008) is now out. I'm really, really pleased with this, it's a six page piece and easily the best questions asked of me so far :)

Done and... done

Just so that you know crossed the 50,000 word mark at about 10:30pm yesterday evening, thumbing its nose at the 90 minutes remaining for National Novel Writing Month 2008. God, this one has been hard. I haven't had the chance to review Be right back yet, and I need to take a few days to adjust to normal life again, but you can expect to see it in time for Christmas.
